Bio
Dr Sharon Prendeville is Reader in Design for Sustainability Transitions and Deputy Associate Dean (Research and Innovation) at Loughborough University London (LUL). Her expertise is at the intersection of design innovation, environmental social movements, and democratic innovation. In 2023, Sharon was invited to join the Design Museum’s Future Observatory Research Steering Group, its national research programme for designing the green transition delivered in partnership with the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). In 2020, she was named one of the AHRC’s design research future stars. She is currently leading the EPSRC-funded EcoLandS project as part of the Royal College of Arts Ecological Citizens Network+ project, which is developing a service to support communities with negotiating and democratising land access. Sharon was previously principal investigator on the AHRC-funded ‘Counter-Framing Design’ project, that investigated the politics of design framing practices within the field of sustainability. She is currently Co-Director of LUL’s Climate and Ecological Transitions Hub.
